Paloma Ayana Stoecker (Born 20 September 1990(age 22) Paris, France), who records under the mononym Delilah, is a British singer-songwriter currently signed to Atlantic Records. In 2011, she collaborated with Chase & Status on the single "Time". Her first solo song "Go", was officially released on 25 September 2011,[1] whilst previously being available for digital download. Her debut album From the Roots Up was released on 30 July 2012.
One of the most refreshing feelings is finding a female artist whose voice sounds like it was heaven sent. Delilah, a young 22 year old singer / songwriter from London is another diamond in the rough. She has a similar sound to Jess Mills and Katy B, but there is something just a little bit more brilliant about Delilah’s music.
For her new single, British songstress Delilah goes back to the beginning with “Breathe”, a track previously given away as a free download last year, and now gets a revamp for its single status.
Rising UK singer Delilah is building a buzz with the release her '2-4am' mixtape.
After having to move from Paris to London at a young age due to a separation of her parents, and then dealing with the death of her step father when she was only 12, she had enough emotional leeway to start documenting her feelings into music. Delilah has the gift of turning your pain into song. Her voice is so purely intense that you almost feel as if she’s reached inside your soul and pulled out every feeling you have and channeled it into music, at least, that’s exactly how I felt when I heard her newest single “Breathe.”
Imagine a modern-day one-girl equivalent of All Saints. That’s what I’d like her to be. She’s definitely got the looks and voice to fill that void. Dear Delilah: might we have some more dark, chill, urban-tinged pop, please. Thank you.
Having first made a name for herself on Chase And Status’s Time and over her own solo singles spawning many bass heavy remixes off all descriptions, Delilah has put together a half hour mix showcasing some of these remixes, alongside a selection of her favourite D’n'B tracks and remixes by other artists. Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of drum ‘n’ bass but Delilah is one of the most phenomenal talents in the UK right now and if you’re a fan of her, or drum ‘n’ bass music in general, check it out!
